What This Wiki Is About#

I'm John Lusk, a middle-aged software developer in North Carolina (USA).

As I state in my RSS feed description: "John's personal bliki. Notes mostly on web development and associated technologies, while avoiding getting locked in to the ecology of any single large corporation."

To add a bit to that: I consider Java, specifically, to be an open framework, since the language spec is open, and the courts have ruled (so far) that the library spec (API) is also open. If Oracle ever moves to really close Java, I might re-consider, but, bear in mind: Java runs with the same behavior on many platforms, including (but not limited to) MS-Windows, MacOS, Linux and IBM mainframes.

Another deciding factor for choosing Apache JSPWiki in particular: pages are stored as flat text markup files. So, if/when you (I) decide to migrate to another wiki platform, there's no horsing around with stupid, poorly-documented database structures. That will also be a key deciding factor for whatever wiki I move TO.)

Finally, if this wiki is b0rked (but you can get to this page), feel free to email me at jspwiki-admin@how-hard-can-it-be.com.
